ASHLEY, Ohio -- A Delaware County dive team was called into action Sunday afternoon after a driver saw a submerged car in the water in a recreational area along state Route 229 west of Ashley.
The dive team discovered that there was no one inside or near the vehicle, which was identified as a red 2004 Crossfire.
Tow trucks removed the vehicle, and law enforcement officers found it had been reported stolen from Columbus more than a year ago. They do not know how long the vehicle had been in the water.
