COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Five families will be given rent-free apartments for a year -- thanks to a new outreach program.
The Crawford Hoying Homes of Hope program begins on Dec. 21 with the participation of Crawford Hoying, The Salvation Army, Sunny95, Kroger, Bins and Time Warner Cable.
Kroger will provide each family a $200 gift card for groceries, Bins will provide storage bins to help the families with their move into their new homes and Time Warner Cable will provide one year free standard cable service, subject to availability.
"We are very excited about this initiative and hope that this is the beginning of a semi-annual event," said Brent Crawford, Co-Chairman of Crawford Hoying.
Anyone may nominate a family in need by completing a nomination form online at www.crawfordhoying.com or www.sunny95.com. Nomination forms are also available at all Crawford Hoying apartment community clubhouses and Sunny95.
Nominations will be accepted until midnight on Jan. 5, 2010.
The families chosen to receive the rent-free apartment homes will be selected by The Salvation Army, which helps hundreds of Central Ohio residents find much needed housing every year.
