COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man is killed in his apartment and police need help finding the killer.
On August 2, 2005 in the early morning hours, Columbus police were called to an apartment on Moon Road on a report of a bad odor coming from inside.
When officers entered the apartment, they found the body of Johnnie Luckett inside the doorway, tied to a kitchen chair, badly beaten. Luckett was last seen entering the apartment a few days before with a black female and he was carrying a 12-pack of beer.
Luckett had mentioned to his neighbors he would be visiting family in Akron, so when his vehicle was missing from the complex, they didn’t think anything was out of place. Luckett’s car turned up a few days later detailed and cleaned inside and out.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $2,000 for any information received by January 6, 2010 leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
