COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police say five defibrillators recently stolen from Central Ohio hospitals have turned up at a secondhand store.

Columbus police say the lifesaving heart devices were recovered Wednesday on a tip from someone who had seen them and heard about the thefts. Detective Brian Lacy says the shopkeeper is cooperating and didn't know the equipment was stolen.

Ohio State University Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital have reported the thefts of several defibrillators since November. They said each machine was worth $10,000 or more.

The store's price was $4,000.

Lacy says investigators are focusing on a man arrested Dec. 24 at a third hospital and charged with burglary when he was allegedly found with three laptop computers in a suitcase.
