ELYRIA, Ohio -- An 8-year-old Ohio girl shot in the head during a struggle over a pistol with her 10-year-old brother has died.
A spokeswoman for MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland says Najia Boone died Tuesday, two days after the shooting.
Police say the girl was critically wounded Sunday when the .22-caliber pistol went off at her family's Elyria home. Police say her brother took the weapon from a relative's home. No other details were released.
Authorities are still investigating the case, and no charges have been filed.
