White Castle Apologizes For Towing Soldiers' Cars

»  Comments | Post a Comment

INDIANAPOLIS -- The White Castle restaurant chain is apologizing to Indiana National Guardsmen and their families for towing their cars.

Guardsmen say a White Castle manager in Indianapolis gave them permission Saturday to park at the company's restaurant near Lucas Oil Stadium, which was hosting a welcome-home celebration.

But later, about 25 soldiers found their cars had been towed, and they had to pay $165 each to retrieve the vehicles from impound.

On Monday, White Castle regional director David Dore apologized and presented a $5,000 check to the Guard.

He said White Castle would also refund the towing costs and provide the soldiers free food when they visit the restaurant.

White Castle is based in Columbus, Ohio.
