COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rescue crews were called to a South Side demolition site Tuesday afternoon after a worker was injured in a 10-foot shaft.

The man reportedly works for Industrial Waste Control and was doing demolition on a building at 767 Jenkins Road.
He was in a small area of a tower of sorts that is attached to the building.
Materials above him collapsed and hit him in his helmet; his helmet cracked.
The victim was pinned by the materials and was extricated from the shaft with a crane-type arm and ladder.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center in serious but not life-threatening condition.
