COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ah, the art of patience.
Commuting around the city soon will be slow-going as orange barrels start to dot roads such as Henderson Road and High Street.
One freeway, in particular, will see major construction come spring.
NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported with the BOTTOMLINE on upcoming road and freeway construction.
The Ohio Department of Transportation and the city announced multiple road construction projects Thursday.
High Street's barrel's won't hit the road until Thanksgiving 2009.
Barrels will be going up on state Route 315 northbound between Interstate 670 and the North Broadway exit.
Construction was scheduled to begin in mid-June.
One lane will be shut down at a time for resurfacing.
Construction will slow down over the bridge near Riverside Methodist Hospital.
After the bridge, work will pick up as one-lane-at-a-time closings happen for more resurfacing north to the East North Broadway exit.
Ramps between I-670 and North Broadway will close, too.
One direction of Henderson Road will be restricted to one lane, west of High Street.
Drivers should expect barrels and delays at more than 100 projects in the city.
And next summer, S.R. 315 drivers can expect the same northbound construction and closings in the southbound lanes.
