CINCINNATI- A Cincinnati funeral home has started offering a purple casket for boosters who want to go to the grave in a high school's color.
The coffin even has handles decorated with Elder High School's purple panther logo.
It's all part of the "purple package" offered by the Ralph Meyer & Deters Funeral Home, just a few blocks from the school's campus on the city's west side. Total cost, including embalming and burial vault, is nearly $5,000.
Funeral director Terry Deters says the casket in purple steel is not officially sanctioned by the school, a local football power. But he plans to donate $100 from every sale to the Elder scholarship fund.
