CENTRAL OHIO -- Road crews were preparing Friday for Saturday's predicted snow and were hoping pre-treating will make things easier.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The city of Columbus was pre-treating all bridges, ramps, overpasses and major roadways with brine.
Columbus normally doesn't staff snow warriors on Saturdays, but crews were told to be prepared to come in Saturday if there is snow.
ODOT was formulating its plan. The agency was looking at forecast models to decide how many crews will be needed and where they'll be needed.
In the meantime, ODOT also was pre-treating roads with brine in Franklin, Pickaway, Delaware, and Union counties.
Want a clue where road crews have been? Look for pin-striping on the highways and roadways. That's where the brine is.
An ODOT spokesperson said it's easier to fight any ice and snow if brine is applied ahead of time.
