State Employees Forced To Take Time Off?

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- NBC 4 is hearing news that thousands of state employees will have to take days off without pay.

The Department of Administrative Services said there will be a news black out regarding the union negotiations with the state and will not comment.

NBC 4 has learned that in the state budget announced a week ago. It calls for state employee concessions of $163 million.

NBC 4 has learned that layoffs or furloughs could be used.

The Ohio Civil Service Employees Association has more than 36,000 members.
