COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A woman was sentenced Wednesday in connection with the hit-and-run accident that killed a 14-year-old Grove City girl.
Tiffany Rhodes pleaded guilty in January to a charge of failure to stop after an accident last March wherein 14-year-old Raven McConnell was struck and killed, NBC 4 reported.
Rhodes was sentenced to 90 days in the Franklin County Correctional Center. She was fined $250 plus court costs.
The jail sentence was suspended if she completes 15 months of probation on community control and a certified driving safety course.
Rhodes' driving privileges were also suspended for 15 months.
Raven was trying to cross five lanes of traffic on Hoover Road during a rain storm when she was hit and killed by a driver who kept going, prosecutor Ron O'Brien said.
Witnesses actually followed the driver, leading police to Rhodes, O'Brien said.
The judge said he would consider work driving privileges for Rhodes if she gets employed.
