COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Fire crews were called to a house fire on the city's Northeast Side Friday morning.

Columbus fire was called to the 400 block of North Nelson Road on a working fire after 8 a.m.
Neighbors called in the emergency because no one was home at the time of the fire.
The homeowner, Loleetha Towns-Dunbar, said she has lived in the home for about 10 to 12 years.
"I appreciate whomever called 911. I appreciate my neighbors," Towns-Dunbar said.
When fire crews entered the home, they found a dog and four cats.
The dog bit at least two of the firefighters, and the firefighters were sent to an area hospital as a precaution. The injuries were not serious.
One of the family's four cats died.
"They did an excellent job – the firefighters," Towns-Dunbar said. "They saved some of my animals. I really appreciate it."
There was smoke and fire damage to the home's attic area.
The Red Cross was called in to help the family.
North Nelson Road was closed between Maryland and Greenway avenues as fire crews worked.
