AKRON, Ohio -- A judge in Akron has banned all contact between a husband and wife charged with the death of their infant son, including the sending of a Christmas card.

Judge Patricia Cosgrove of Summit County Common Pleas Court has also banned Christopher Hoffman from having any one-on-one contact with the couple's next child.

Heidi Hoffman, currently in Summit County Jail, is seven months pregnant. Her husband is free on a $1 million bond.

The couple was charged with several crimes including aggravated murder in the December 2007 death of their son.

The county medical examiner says the 10-week-old baby sustained 20 rib fractures and a freshly fractured collarbone.

Christopher Hoffman wanted to send his wife a Christmas card but Cosgrave said there are numerous ways to influence someone, including by sending such a card.
