CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland school bus driver accused of leaving the scene after hitting and severely injuring a 14-year-old bicyclist has been charged with vehicular assault.
Police say 49-year-old Cheryl Hill was driving the bus that hit Taylor Price as he rode his bike near Interstate 71 before dawn Tuesday. Hill later told police she thought she hit a pothole.
Price suffered numerous injuries, including broken legs and a punctured lung. A spokeswoman at MetroHealth Medical Center said the teen's condition was upgraded from critical to fair on Thursday.
Police Lt. Thomas Stacho said Hill also has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
