COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A murder trial came to an abrupt end Wednesday afternoon as the accused killer admitted his guilt in the rape and murder of a teenage girl.
Michael Horton pleaded guilty to four criminal charges, including aggravated murder, rape, kidnapping and robbery, NBC 4 reported.
In November 2007, police said, the body of 19-year-old Stephanie Ducheine was found in an abandoned apartment. She had been strangled.
Police said Horton met Ducheine through a social networking Web site.
Horton changed his plea after prosecutors agreed to remove the death penalty from sentencing possibilities. He will likely face life in prison.
Horton is scheduled to be sentenced in February.
