Program Helps Small Businesses In Struggling Economy

»  Comments | Post a Comment

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- More than 80 representatives from small businesses in Central Ohio gathered for a meeting Friday to get a shot at business in a struggling economy.

Contacts to Contracts is an effort by the Columbus Chamber to link small local businesses with large regional companies, NBC 4's Mikaela Hunt reported.

The program started in July 2008 and is growing quickly due to the economy and the mystery behind getting involved with big business, program coordinators said.

Business owners must have a basic Chamber membership to get involved, but organizers said they believe the business opportunities have tremendous potential to grow your business.

They don't consider this "corporate welfare" but rather a smart way to place small businesses with the right tools with the businesses that need them locally.
