SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Authorities say a motorist was killed after being shot in a Dayton suburb by deputies investigating an earlier shooting in nearby Springfield.
Huber Heights Police Chief Rob Schommer says deputies fired on the man Thursday night after he stepped out of a car and raised a gun in their direction.
Springfield police Lt. Lou Turner says the deputies had been pursuing the man as they investigated the shooting of another man in a car parked at a Springfield restaurant.
Turner says the man who was shot in the earlier incident is listed in stable condition at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
