CLEVELAND -- An Ohio promoter for the Motor Sports Monster Truck & Thrill Show has died from injuries after he was crushed beneath a giant truck tire at a show in Wisconsin.
The Saturday night accident comes just more than a week after a 6-year-old boy was killed in a monster truck event in Tacoma, Wash.
The coroner in Dane County, Wis., says 41-year-old George Eisenhart Jr. of Chardon, Ohio, died after an accident in Madison.
A witness told the Wisconsin State Journal that Eisenhart walked in front of one of the monster trucks just as it was about to pass by at the Dane County Coliseum.
A preliminary coroner's investigation found that neither Eisenhart nor the truck's driver, 54-year-old Daniel Patrick of Circleville, Ohio, saw each other before the collision.
The popular Eisenhart was one of the leading figures in the business who for years had emphasized safety at arena shows.
