CANTON, Ohio -- Police in Canton say they arrested a man accused in the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old girl in her home. Police say 21-year-old William Hiram Ferguson was one of two men who entered the home Thursday night and demanded money. The toddler, Harmoney Sankey, was shot and killed, and her grandfather was assaulted and shot in the leg. Police say Ferguson surrendered to authorities Saturday morning in Elyria. The other suspect remained at large. Police have not commented a motive. The grandfather was treated and released from a hospital.
Ferguson is being held in lieu of $5 million bond at the Stark County Jail on charges of complicity to murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
