COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police said a man was fatally shot in a parking lot early Sunday and officers made a homicide arrest.
CPD's homicide squad continued to investigate the city’s latest homicide.
The incident happened shortly before 2:39 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Joyce Avenue on the city's North Side.
Detectives arrested 26-year-old Nelson Romine Jr. for the murder of 34-year-old A. Kenneth Jackson Sunday morning.
Jackson was found in a parking lot on Joyce Avenue around 2:45 early Sunday morning.
In a release issued by detectives, the investigation found that Romine was upset out of a possible theft incident and was pointing a handgun at several people in the parking lot on Joyce Avenue. When Romine was pointing the gun at a random male in the group, Jackson approached to help the man. Romine shot Jackson one time in the stomach.
