READING, Ohio -- The owner of a suburban Cincinnati barbecue restaurant is appealing an order to put more clothes on a busty, scantily clad mannequin outside his door.
Kenny Tessel says the eye-catching, life-size figure has boosted his business 40 percent. But officials in Reading objected to her skimpy halter top and tight short-shorts.
Tessel won a ruling in May that allowed the mannequin to stay, if dressed more modestly. He said he would appeal the cover-up order before a zoning appeals board on Monday
Tessel says more than 800 customers have signed a petition asking the city to leave the mannequin alone. He says at least 500 of them are new customers drawn by his curvaceous mascot.
