COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police found and charged the woman who allegedly left her infant daughter on the porch of an abandoned home in June.
A mail carrier found the newborn girl on the porch of a vacant house on Marble Drive, near Livingston Avenue at about 10 a.m. June 27.
Police said that on July 5, they received information that 24-year-old Nayeli Garcia was the mother of the infant.
Police went to Garcia's workplace, interviewed her and said she allegedly admitted to leaving the newborn on the porch.
She was taken to Grant Medical Center for treatment and charged with one count of child endangering.
The infant has since been placed with a foster family.
