NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Test results received by the Licking County Health Department confirmed the county’s first H1N1 case.
All previous suspected cases were ruled out after further testing.
Laboratory testing confirmed the case.
“This announcement is not a cause for panic. Taking into consideration that we share a border with Franklin County, which has the second highest number of confirmed cases of the virus in Ohio and that many Licking County residents travel there for a variety of reasons, it is not unreasonable that a confirmed case of H1N1 would be found in our county,” Licking County Health Commissioner Joe Ebel said.
The health department, CDC, ODH and local partners continued to investigate the confirmed case.
