COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local man pleaded and was sentenced after a teen was fatally stabbed last summer.

Terry Gilmore, 29, of Columbus pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday.
Melvin Simuel, 17, was found in the street on Floral Avenue Sunday, June 15, 2008.
He was bleeding from a stab wound to the chest. He died at the hospital.
Melvin’s death started a manhunt for the person responsible.
CPD issued a warrant for Gilmore and he was taken into custody.
Officers said the incident started with a stabbing.
Gilmore’s original charge was murder.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison in Franklin County common pleas court Monday.
