COLUMBUS, Ohio--The county in Ohio's northwest corner continues to lead the state in unemployment.

The state Department of Job and Family Services said today that Williams County had the highest jobless rate for June, at 17.6 percent.

That was up from 17.1 in May.

And again, fast-growing Delaware County north of Columbus was lowest, with June unemployment of 7.5 percent.

Officials said on Friday that the state's jobless rate went up to 11.1 percent last month, the highest since August 1983.

Toledo had the highest rate among the state's largest cities, with unemployment of 15.6 percent.

Cleveland Heights was at the other end of the scale, at 7.4 percent in June.
