Driver Strikes Culvert, Vehicle Rolls In Crash

MT. GILEAD, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Saturday night just before midnight.

Reports said 41-year-old Ronald Spangler Jr. of Ashley was operating an Oldsmobile Alero when he drove off the left side of County Road 228, striking a culvert.

After the impact, the vehicle became airborne and overturned.

Spangler was partially ejected and was transported by Med-Flight to OSU Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Alcohol was listed as a factor in the crash.

The crash remained under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
