COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A boy found a body in a retention pond in a Southwest Side housing development Tuesday morning.

Columbus fire and police were called out to the 2400 block of Holt Road in the Holt Park development before 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to Columbus police.
An 11-year-old boy, who was going fishing for turtles, found the body in a pond that is located between houses in the development.
The boy ran back to the house and told his grandparents about what he found. The grandparents called 911.
Authorities pronounced the 19-year-old male dead at the scene at 10:39 a.m.
Apparently, the victim's body had been in the water for a few days.
The victim did have ID on his person. Authorities weren’t releasing his identity until next of kin was notified.
Columbus police’s homicide squad also was called to the scene. It remained unclear currently whether foul play was involved.
The victim does match a missing person’s report, authorities said.
Authorities continued to investigate.
