CINCINNATI, Oh -- An 11-year-old boy has been arrested in an alleged scooter-jacking attempt.
Police say the boy tried to hold up two boys with a plastic toy gun and take their silver push scooters in a public park Monday evening.
The two boys' father, Rich Harrison, says it was a frightening experience because it wasn't clear that the gun was a toy.
His boys are ages 8 and 10.
Police say the boy pointed his toy gun, saying he wanted to take a scooter, and then chased the brothers as they raced away on their scooters.
Police took the boy to the Hamilton County juvenile center, where he faces an Aug. 7 hearing.
A public defender doubts the boy could understand the consequences of his behavior.
