DELAWARE, Ohio -- State fire officials ruled a multiple-alarm hotel fire as arson Wednesday.
The fire at the Delaware Hotel, 351 Sandusky St., started before 12:30 p.m. Saturday and took about three hours to contain.
The fire originated in the bar of the hotel -- specifically at the bar, officials said.
Investigators said they were able to rule out all accidental causes and found evidence to support that the fire was intentionally set.
No one was injured. The hotel has been vacant since late 2008. There appears to have been no utilities connected at the structure.
A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information about the person or persons responsible for the fire.
Anyone with information is asked to call Delaware police at 740-203-1122 or the state fire marshal's office at 800-586-2728.
The investigation is ongoing.
A damage estimate was not immediately available. However, investigators said that more than half of the hotel sustained “significant or extensive” damage.
