COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An argument led to a fatal stabbing, and CPD arrested a suspect in the overnight homicide.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
CPD was dispatched to the 3300 block of East Main Street on the city’s East Side on reports of a stabbing shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers found 47-year-old Andre Darnell Bradford outside a home with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center. He died from his injuries about a half hour later.
The incident started with some kind of argument or fight, police said, but the reason for the fight remained unclear.
"There was a fight in front of 3320, the muffler shop right here behind me, and that's where the stabbing occurred. The victim ran across East Main Street and collapsed," CPD homicide Sgt. Dana Norman said.
Christopher Liggins, 44, was arrested and charged with murder early Wednesday.
CPD continued to investigate but asked anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 614-645-4730.
It was the city’s 48th homicide of 2009 and the second fatal stabbing in two days. Larry Heard, 58, was stabbed several times early Tuesday. That incident was on the city’s Southeast Side.
