HILLIARD, Ohio -- A three-alarm commercial fire in Hilliard has been ruled arson and a reward has been issued.
The National Response Team (NRT) from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) along with agents from the ATF Columbus Field Division, announced Tuesday that the blaze was ruled arson.
The fire happened Sunday, May 25, at Highcom Security, Inc., and Wolfden Products on Lacon Road.
The NRT arrived in Hilliard last Wednesday and began its on-scene investigation Thursday.
Specific information regarding the fire and investigation will not be released as the investigation into the criminal act is continuing.
Christopher Sadowski, special agent in charge, ATF Columbus Field Division, said the structure was severely damaged. Early estimates of damages are in excess of $5 million.
The Division of State Fire Marshal has posted Blue Ribbon Arson reward sign at the property. The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau at 1-800-589-2728.
