ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio – Athens County officials warn residents of a new scam involving carpet salesman.

Two men who are described as being in their fifties with gray hair are trying to sell cheap carpet door-to-door.
The men come into the house to talk to the homeowner and show them the carpet. During this time, a third person enters and steals items from the home.
Their vehicle is described as a black Kia SUV.
If you are approached by a door-to-door carpet salesman please contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office immediately with a description and a license plate number.
