AKRON, Ohio -- Authorities said a bold suspect used an ax to hold up a gas station and it was caught on surveillance video.

Law-enforcement officials recently arrested Russell Purnell on aggravated robbery charges.
Security video showed a suspect coming into a gas station, waving around an ax and ordering a clerk and customers to follow his orders.
The incident happened Thursday, May 28, according to authorities.
Sheriff’s officials received several tips about the robbery that lead deputies to Purnell’s home.
Officials arrested Purnell at his home and said he was hiding in a furnace in his basement.
An ax that was suspected to have been used in the robbery was found near Purnell’s home.
