MORGAN COUNTY, Ohio -- A teenager has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Travis Lee Fischer, 17, was arrested and charged with causing the Tuesday, June 2, death of Abi Matthews, according to Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney Mark J. Howdyshell.

The charge of aggravated murder was filed in Morgan County Juvenile Court Friday morning.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled by Juvenile Court Judge Dan W. Favreau, at which time the state must prove the age of the accused and present evidence that there is probable cause to believe that the accused committed the act.

If the court finds the accused was 16 or 17 and probable cause to believe the accused committed the act charged, the court must then transfer the case to the Court of Common Pleas, General Division, where the accused will be treated as an adult.

The murder investigation continued.

Fischer was being held in the Muskingum County Juvenile Detention facility.
