WHITEHALL, Ohio -- Regardless of where you live, there are speeders. Police and patrols can only do so much, but with tight budgets, manpower is challenging.
A justice assistance grant in Whitehall will net nearly $25,000 to pay for officer overtime.
Those officers will be set up for a summer's worth of overtime to specifically watch speeders.
City officials say that just like every community, there are pockets of speeders in Whitehall.
Some residents say the problem continues to grow.
Kenneth Swanson is a former police officer and public safety director and says the only way to curb speeding is to have more cruisers visible, and hand out more tickets.
City officials said they track data through stealth radars, set up radar trailers and can add more officers in those spots.
