COLUMBUS, Ohio -- CPD and the FBI asked for the public’s help to find a bank-robbery suspect.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
A man entered the National City Bank at 2700 Cleveland Ave. on the city's North Side at about 10:22 a.m. Friday.
He walked up to a bank teller, holding his driver’s license in one hand and a deposit slip in the other.
The man handed the teller the deposit slip, and when the teller went to take his license, the man pulled it back and said, “Yeah, this is a robbery,” according to FBI Special Agent Harry Trombitas.
The teller read the note that said he was robbing the bank and wanted money, authorities said.
The teller gave the suspect a very small amount of money although no weapon was observed.
The suspect took the money and his identification and exited the bank, Trombitas said.
The suspect was described as a black male who was in his late 20s to early 30s. He is 6 feet tall with a thin build, goatee and moustache.
He was wearing a white sweatshirt, dark pants and white tennis shoes.
Anyone with any information should contact the CPD robbery squad at 614-645-4665 or the FBI at 614-744-2168.
It was the Columbus area’s 25th bank robbery of 2009.
