COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Local authorities asked for your help to solve a triple-murder cold case. If you have a tip, you could cash in.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers hoped you have the tips "to catch a killer."
June’s crime involved the 1991 triple murder of Robert and Patricia Vansickle and Kathleen Taylor.
The bodies of Robert, Patricia and Taylor were discovered inside the Vansickle’s residence at 2736 Steele Ave. on the city’s West Side.
Robert and Patricia’s son Michael Vansickle found the bodies at about 3 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 1991.
An investigation revealed Robert sold large amounts of drugs out of his house. Investigators said they believe the murders were a result of a robbery for money, drugs or both.
Kilos of drugs and drug-processing items were found in the home.
The suspects likely knew the family because two dogs, a Doberman pinscher and a rottweiler that were free to roam the house, were found behind closed doors. Both dogs were aggressive unless familiar with a person.
Crime Stoppers posted a reward of as much as $5,000 for any information received that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for the crime.
