CLEVELAND
A new program that limits taxi service at the Cleveland airport to three cab companies has prompted protests from some drivers who were left out of the plan.
The program that started Friday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport leaves out four cab companies. In a rally outside of Cleveland City Hall, some drivers say there aren't enough fares elsewhere in Cleveland to keep them in business.
Taxi drivers pay for cab usage and are considered independent contractors.
Airport Director Ricky Smith says the taxi plan is designed for more efficient and customer-friendly taxi service.
