CARROLL, Ohio -- A mangled convertible, an overturned Jeep and five people headed for the hospital are the results of a collision between two vehicles on Coonpath Road in Fairfield County.
The crash occurred on Coonpath Road near the intersection of Pickerington Road Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, a 16-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on Coonpath Road in a convertible when the vehicle crested the hill at a high rate of speed and collided with a Jeep.
Highway patrol officials said four teenagers in the convertible were injured -- two of them critically.
The Jeep overturned and a woman had to be extricated from the wreckage.
In addition to the teenage driver, there was a 15-year-old in the front seat and two 13-year-olds in the back seat.
The injured victims were taken to Grant Medical Center and Children's Hospital in Columbus.
The investigation is ongoing.
