DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton police say a detective who was questioning a man at a recycling center was injured after being dragged when the man jumped into his vehicle and sped away.
Lt. Patrick Welsh says the officer was talking to a metal scrapper about some brass fittings and copper pipes he was trying to cash in when the man jumped in his vehicle.
Welsh says the officer was dragged about 30 feet before the man crashed the vehicle into a concrete wall.
Police are not releasing names of those involved.
The detective was taken to a hospital, where he is stable.
