COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A CPD officer was involved in an overnight crash, and the officer kicked his or her way out of the cruiser.

The crash happened shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The officer was driving eastbound on Interstate 70 when he or she lost control.
The cruiser crashed into the freeway railing, rolled down an embankment and came to rest on its top.
The officer kicked out a window to get out of the upside-down cruiser.
The officer was not injured in the crash but was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
CPD said wet weather likely was a factor in the crash.
