DELAWARE, Ohio -- A teenager drowned at a local reservoir Wednesday evening.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
An 18-year-old male was swimming with friends at the beach portion of Alum Creek State Park before 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Friends said the male went under and disappeared.
Rescue crews spent nearly an hour searching the water.
A dive team and a boat with sonar were called to the scene, but the teen was in the water for 53 minutes before his body was found, according to Orange Twp. firefighters.
He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
