COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local man accused of killing a young father pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday.

A Columbus man accused of killing a young father appeared before a judge on Tuesday morning.
Corey Laney, 25, pleaded guilty to the murder of 21-year-old Christopher Henderson Monday.
Laney was sentenced to 18 years to life in a Franklin County Common Pleas courtroom.
Police said Laney shot and killed Henderson outside a Tim Horton's restaurant on West Broad Street in Franklinton at about 5:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008.
Henderson had been working at the restaurant for about a year. Police said Laney is a former employee of Tim Horton's.
Laney remained in Franklin County jail on a $1 million bond until his plea hearing Monday.
