CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- County fair season is underway, which means games, food and rides.
But how much attention do the rides get to make sure you and your family have a good time while staying safe?
In 2007, nearly 300 million guests visited U.S. amusement facilities and safety enjoyed 1.8 billion rides.
The most recent fixed-site amusement ride injury survey highlights that an estimated 1,309 ride-related injuries occurred in 2007.
Matthew Walker takes his safety checklist to each ride and if there's even the slightest of problems, the ride is closed for repair.
Walker said the machines are built for speed and safety.
"As long as they are safe, I'm having fun. It's a great job," Walker said.
