COLUMBUS, Ohio -- People lurking around public parks in hopes of soliciting sex or shocking a jogger or biker by exposing themselves.
It is a disturbing scenario and a problem Columbus police officers are cracking down on this summer.
Police said Berliner Park is the worst when it comes to perverts.
Rounding out the top-four list of worst local parks: Helsel Park off Hamilton Road, Rhodes Park near the Hilltop area and Duranceau Park off Riverside Drive.
Sue Deffet visits Duranceau Park daily.
She said the fact that perverts lurk there makes her uncomfortable. She said she hopes police can clean up the problem.
From January to April of this year
CPD has arrested 34 sexual deviants during the time period of January through April 2009. That number was up from 30 arrested during the same time period in 2008.
