DELAWARE, Ohio – Today, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is set to auction off more than 100 items previously owned by a couple accused of scamming friends and family out of more than $800,000. Deputies say Melanie and Phylip Chen convinced family members and friends that Phylip had cancer and they needed money to pay for his medical expenses. Deputies seized their property last year and today they will auction off furniture, home electronics, luggage and jewelry. The auction will start at 10 a.m. behind the Frank Willis Building along U.S. 23 in Delaware.
