COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man who was driving a stolen vehicle deliberately hit CPD cruisers in an attempt to escape, according to police.

Columbus Police officers observed a reported stolen vehicle at the Shell Station on East Livingston Avenue.
That was at about 10 p.m. Sunday.
Police followed the vehicle and observed the suspect running a red light, according to CPD.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle by activating emergency lights and siren.
The suspect, Tony Packer, tried to avoid the officers and hit one of the officer’s cruisers, CPD said.
Other officers responded to try to prevent the suspect from fleeing further, and he deliberately struck their cruisers as well.
The suspect eventually was apprehended without further incident.
The officers struck were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Packer was scheduled to be in court Monday morning, facing two counts of felonious assault against the officers.
