While many communities across the nation are struggling to stay alive financially, some areas are not being hit as hard as others.

DUBLIN, Ohio -- While many communities across the nation are struggling to stay alive financially, some areas are not being hit as hard as others.

Monday night’s State of the City speech for the City of Dublin had some good news, reported NBC 4’s Tom Brockman.

According to financial reports, the city income tax revenue grew by more than 4 percent last year and was expected to increase by 3 percent this year.

With large corporations such as IGS Energy and Cardinal Health, headquartered in Dublin, new City Manager Terry Foegler said it is this diversified tax base which is the foundation for the city’s growth and success.

While gains were being reported across the board in Dublin, city officials were taking them with a grain of salt, fully realizing the economic crisis currently facing the nation.

Foegler told NBC 4 he’s been directed by city council to closely monitor the current economic situation for any waves of uncertainty headed in the city's direction.
