COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Officials, voting-rights advocates and academics are gathering at a conference to talk about ways to improve Ohio's elections.
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner says she will compile recommendations from the event going on Thursday and Friday and submit them to the governor and Legislature. Lawmakers have said they want to improve areas of the law that drew questions during last November's election.
Main topics under discussion include provisional voting, the weeklong window during which Ohioans can register and cast a ballot on the same day, and poll-worker training.
The conference in Columbus is the second of its kind held since November.
